Advantages of Ski-Disk

On the pavement
  • The wheels provide a greater stability on the pavement when crossing roads.

    1. It is easier to turn, as it reduces the turning radius.
    2. The wheels increase the safety level when snowmobiling.
    3. It is easier to turn, as it reduces the turning radius.
  • As it is easier to drive the snowmobile on wheels, it is also easier to move backwards.
  • Ski-Disk suréleve les skis permettant ainsi une usure moindre sur les carbolites.

On ice
  • The wheels cut a groove in the ice and give an extra grip for driving the snowmobile.
  • When crossing roads, the side of the road is usually icy. It is then very difficult to start off as the skis grip the pavement and the track slips on the ice. Since the skis are raised by the wheels, nothing prevents the track from propelling the snowmobile.

On snow
  • An additional lubrication of the teflons is provided by the release of fine dust from the disk grooving the ice and should not be overlooked.
  • The disks decrease resistance on snow.

Conclusion
  • The wheels provide a higher safety level for snowmobiles while easing manœuvres for drivers.
